About Paul

Academic Background: Ph.D. in Applied Physics (Semiconductor Laser Dynamics, Trinity College Dublin), and an MBA (Open University UK). He was formerly an R&D Management & Commercialisation Consultant, working in various roles in R&D and its exploitation, including: Research (METI Japan, Optronics Ireland, INESC Portugal); Industry (Electronics marketing, including award winning product development); Financial Services (Technology equities analyst including IPO); and Consulting (Managing the Complete Research Life Cycle). 

Responsibilities: Paul is RDP’s Director of Technical Services and Business Development for Ireland. He has been working on Irish R&D Tax Credits since 2017. Paul has had considerable success with helping clients to win R&D Grants and commercialise their R&D results. He has helped his clients win R&D grants of >€100m since 2014, including significant funding from European Horizon and Enterprise Ireland programmes. He has contributed significantly to several University spin-outs, which are all still trading. He has a proven ability to learn and work effectively with experts from a wide variety of new domains.
